getting there
This has been a slow process. I am however seeing some progress, though slow, so I am ok with it taking time. This morning I weighed in at 181.2 which is 2 lbs down from last week. I worked out every day but one and have been keeping my carbs low. I haven't been counting but as far as I can tell I am only taking in hidden carbs, because I have not touched a piece of bread, pasta, or rice in over two months. I keep thinking, if I had only done this before I gained again and got up to 198 lbs, I could be 18 lbs lighter than I was then and closer to my goal. I guess I can't think that way though. I try not to focus on the scale, I only weigh in once a week so I don't freak out over it. I just wish my metabolism would kick into gear and help me out a little. Stress probably doesn't help the matter and since I now have 5 children in my house who stress me out on a regular basis lately, it's definitely a factor. On a good note, I am just 2 lbs away from losing 20 lbs and that to me is pretty awesome. I am only 2 lbs away from being out of the 180s and that is pretty awesome too. My goal right now, is to be in the 150s when I go on the cruise in June. So lets say 159 that's 21 lbs more. I think I can do it. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that my regular workouts will kick my metabolism in and I will lose more but I will be happy with the 21 lbs.

Ugg!!
Oh how I want to scream right now! I have given up EVERYTHING I love to eat. EVERYTHING!! Bread, pasta, sugar and in two months I've only lost 14 pounds. This is beyond frustrating. This is ludacris!! I know it's got to be that I am not doing something right. Not eating enough fat, eating too many calories, too much protein, something. Its driving me nuts. I've been exercising every day with weights and doing dance fitness videos. Going to try to switch up things a little and see what happens. STUCK at 185 grrrr.

Ready or Not
The date is January 13th 2015 and I am 198 pounds. I didn't think I would get back here again.
I'm back at it again. Its been awhile since my last post because I haven't been able to get this blog to work. But anyway here I am again back on the horse. I ballooned back up to 198 lbs back around Christmas and decided to begin trying once again to lose the weight. I decided to try the Atkins diet. Mark and I both. We have given up bread, pasta, sugar and pretty much all other carbohydrates. I honestly never thought I could do this. I'm Italian for goodness sake! But low and behold I have lost 13 lbs since January 13th. Not the results some people have seen on this diet but I'll take it. I am currently stalled at 185 which is what I was the last time I posted on here. I feel amazing, I'm never really hungry and I'm seeing real results. I'm hoping to lose at least 40 lbs by June 14th which is when Mark and I are going on a cruise to the Bahamas for our anniversary. He has lost 23 lbs! I'm very proud of him. He, like me, had an immense love for food. I still love food but I'm learning to love real food. Not all of these processed foods that are available nowadays. We eat eggs, meat, cheeses, butter. And I gave up drinking everything but water and coffee and the occasional green tea. I'm still learning about this "lifestyle" which is what it is for us. We can't go back to the way we were eating and expect not to gain the weight back. I'm a little discouraged at the present moment because I seem to be at a plateau and so is Mark but we are trying to figure it out. I've started exercising so I'm hoping that will make a difference. I've never been able to lose without it anyway. So I am at week 8 and I've lost 13 lbs which puts me at about a pound and a half a week. I'm sticking with it. I'm not giving up this time. I know if I continue this lifestyle I will succeed. I will lose this weight.
