Almost there!
This has taken longer than I hoped it would and lots of hard work but I have lost 35 lbs since Jan 13th. It has not been easy and anyone who has lost weight and kept it off who tells you it is easy is a liar! :P Daily exercise and low carb are how I have managed to do this. And patience, lots and lots of patience. I am sitting here currently at 163 pounds (I had actually gotten down to 160 but have had a bad week this week and ate some things I shouldn't have) 5 pounds from being 40 pounds lighter. I feel great, I look better and I'm in much better physical shape. My current goal is to lose another 20 pounds and then the battle to keep it off will begin. I am going to begin some strength training two days a week. I need to work on my core strength as I can run a few miles but can't do a sit up to save my life! So this is my current goal. I would like to get the remaining 20 lbs off by the one year mark, January 13th. That is 2 months away. I think I can at least get close to it. We shall see.

I wish...
I wish I could sit here and tell you I've lost 10-15 lbs since my last post but I haven't. This is So depressing. Stuck at 177. I've been working out 5-6 days a week I just don't get it at all. I'm going to keep exercising but the low Carb diet isn't working for some reason. I mean, I've lost 21 lbs. But I've been doing this since January 13. Jamie has lost more than that in a little over a month. 😢 I wish I could lose more. Our trip is 40 days away. 5 weeks. Not slot of time to lose the 20 lbs I wanted to by then. I can't even seem to lose a pound a week let alone 4.

And up again...smh
Back up to 181. So frustrating. But I think I know what I need to do. The low carb lifestyle hasn't worked well for me, well I guess I shouldn't say that, not as well for me as it has for others, but I know that stuff is not good for me. I Have no plan on going back to eating the things I used to. At least not until I can find my metabolism which I seem to have lost, or never really had one to begin with. This week will be different. Stepping or up again. Weather is nice now, may get back to jogging. I'm cutting back on my portions as well. I've gotta figure this out. Only 62 more days till we cruise.

Progress is progress
179.8 I am officially out of the 180s and just 1 lb away from losing 20 lbs! I am so happy. At this rate I should be able to lose another 20 lbs or so before our cruise and THAT would be so awesome.
I have to say this. There is no magic pill that is going to make you lose weight and keep it off. Lord knows I have wasted enough money on those miracle pills that do nothing. Dieting is just that, and if you go back to eating and drinking junk you will most likely gain it back. I have NEVER been able to lose significant weight without exercise. Staying active is key. When all is said and done and I have lost what I am comfortable losing, I will do what I can to stay disciplined, watch my portions, exercise, and I WILL NOT allow myself to lose control again. I never want to feel the way I felt looking in the mirror at 198 lbs again. Ever. I want to feel good, and look good but most importantly I want to be happy in my skin.
I have learned to push away my plate when I'm full. And trust me this is not an easy thing to do when the food tastes soooo good and you don't want to waste it. I was raised to never waste food and I think that is where my problem began. In fact now I find myself scolding my kids for wasting but thr truth is when you are done you are done and I shouldn't be forcing them to eat the way I was. I guess the better thing to do is teach them not to get more on their plate than they think they can eat. I dont know, anyway the way I look at food has changed a lot. I have mad discipline when it comes to sugar. Something I never thought I could do. The same with Pasta, in fact had to make pasta salad for my son for his birthday (I LOVE pasta salad) But just gotta keep my eyes on the prize. I am in this to win. To be healthy. To feel amazing.
