7 lbs in 6 days!
Wow so I've lost 7 lbs in 6 days...pretty darn good I think. So I'm at 160 now. I'm hoping this trend will continue and by this time next week I will be 150...that would make me very happy. I really want this to be a lifestyle change for me. I've been thinking, the way that I cook...all the packaged foods and boxed meals I make...they're just not good for any of us. I'm worried about being able to afford to cook actual meals. We are struggling now. But I'm going to do my best. I am also going to start exercising again. Once this weight comes off I want it to stay gone. I don't ever want to deal with being overweight again. One thing that worries me though, I'm not following the protocol exactly the way it says to. I'm eating pretty much the way they say to but I'm not counting my calories. I'm sure its 500 or less (I'm thinking its closer to less) but I'm still losing weight so I don't know. I was such a big carb eater my body is probably reacting to not having it. I was SO proud of myself last night. Brian decided to cheat and order a pizza while I was at work and he got breadsticks too. So when I got home last night guess what was in the fridge? Yep pizza and breadsticks. BUT I didn't touch them! Pizza is my big weakness. They even teased me with it...lol But I stayed strong and I resisted. Plus I wasn't hungry so that helped. My other big weakness is sweets, but I've managed so far not to cheat with them either. I am determined. I want this to work. Like I've never wanted it before. So far...So darn good! :)

Seems to be working!
Well I am on day number 3. Down 3 lbs! Pretty good I think. Its been pretty hard though. I am a BIG carb eater. I'm Italian for goodness sake! (lol) I love my pastas and bread. I really need to learn to curb my eating and this is a way for me to do it. I've been hungry but not unbearably hungry. The worst part is at night when we're sitting around watching television and all those yummy commercials come on. They shouldn't be allowed to show those commercials after 9:00 in my opinion...(lol) Brian has lost 5 lbs. I'm really proud of him. I start my period today so I probably won't see any major weight loss for a week or so. Just like today, I only lost half a lb yesterday I had lost 2 and a half lbs. I want this to work so badly. I hate feeling hungry but I figure next week things might be different. When my body gets used to this change things won't be so bad. I'm having a hard time with lunch though. For the past two days I have eaten cucumbers and 3 slices of organic turkey lunch meat and some melba toast. It isn't much and I can't say I'm full from it but it stops the grumble if ya know what I mean. I usually eat a grapefruit for breakfast but that is getting a little boring. And I'm only on day 3!! Gotta figure something else out for breakfast. And its hard because most nights I don't get off until 7 so I have to wait till then to eat. Oh well I'll get this all straight I'll get used to it sooner or later. One thing I have figured out is I really need to start "cooking". Not just out of a box. Yes its easy and quick but its not healthy at all. That is one of my goals through this, to actually learn how to cook food so that its good for me and my family.

Overthinking things...
I didn't sleep much last night. Well I think my body isn't used to a comfy bed and that was most of it but every time I woke up my mind was filled with thoughts about this diet. Can I really do this? How am I going to make the food Brian and I need for lunch? The book I'm reading says that microwaving your food is a no no, that it drains the food of all of its nutrients. All we have at work is a microwave and a toaster oven. I am reading and hearing contradicting things and its making my head spin. Jamie says I am overthinking things. I hope thats the case. I REALLY want this to work. Jamie and I took our "before" pics yesterday and OMG! Pictures don't lie I definitely need to drop some weight. I posted the pictures at my desk where I will be sure to see them every day for extra motivation. I haven't received my package of the HCG program yet but Jamie got hers today so I should get mine tomorrow. Going to wait until Monday to start because we are having a get together on Sunday. So hopefully I will figure everything out and iron out all the wrinkles between now and then.

A life long fight with my weight
I decided to start this blog because I think it will be helpful to me, as well as maybe help others who are in the same situation as me. All my life I have struggled with my weight, I gain it, I lose it, I gain it back and then some its a vicious cycle. I am 34 years old. Its time for that cycle to stop. I am tired of being overweight and unhealthy. My weight issues began in high school, though I wasn't that big then. After I graduated I got into a serious relationship which had me eating fast food all the time. I ballooned up to almost 200 lbs and on a 5 foot 0 frame I looked huge. I was huge. I began watching what I ate and walking with my mom in the mornings on our hilly country road and I lost about 60 lbs. I felt amazing. Then I got pregant with my first child. Of course when I was pregnant I used my pregnancy as an excuse to eat, as most women do. After all I was "eating for two". So I gained alot of weight with my first child. I never lost the weight from having him before I got pregnant with my daughter so I was pretty soon back up to near 200lbs again. Got back on track and worked my holy butt off over a two year period and lost 60 lbs. At one point I did weight watchers and lost an additional 25 lbs. I have gained 30 of it back. I'm sick of the yo yo'ing. Sick of looking in the mirror and never liking what I see. I have to make a change. A lifestyle change.
Jamie (one of my best friends and coworker) and I came across this "diet". I put diet in quotes because its not really a diet. Its a protocol. Its called HCG. It can be taken by injection or in liquid drops. We are doing the drops because giving oneself a shot without being trained or whatnot seems um...unsafe. Basically this is a hormone found in pregnant women that promotes the release of stored fat cells and combined with a very low calorie diet (500 calories) can cause weight loss of up to (and in some cases beyond)1-2 lbs a DAY. Yes I said per DAY. The diet must be strictly followed but has shown amazing results. Results I myself would LOVE to see. Melting away my muffin top would make me oh so happy. That is my major problem area. So Jamie and I along with our husbands are trying this and we are hoping and praying for results. I haven't recieved my package yet so I haven't started yet but I plan on trying to keep this blog up and noting my weight loss and how I am doing with only consuming 500 calories. There are also vitamins that go along with this and we are reading the book "The Weight Loss Cure" by Kevin Trudeau. I have only skimmed through it so far and I have learned SO much. It makes So much sense to me. I am looking forward to learning more and to getting started.
